USC layouts and a fond goodbye.

Yes, sweet ladies, this lovely angel is flying off next week: first we are spending a week in New Zealand and afterwards we will be visiting my parents in Belgium (and from there of course visit Paris, London... as much as we can fit in!). Oh I am so looking forward to it! This also means though that I will be (even more) quiet for the next 8 weeks. I will be back (refreshed and with lots of photos) the first week of August.

Before I go, I would like to leave you all with my four layouts for the Ultimate Scrapper Contest that ended last week. I made it to Round Four (still amazed about that) and even though I did not win any physical prizes, I now have four very personal layouts that I have given the best I could. :)

So that's it from me now. I will check in every now and then to let you know how everything is going. Have a wonderful summer (for you Northern Hemisphere girls) and winter (for my Southern Hemisphere girls)!

Hugs and Kisses,
Nancy

A new layout and a beauty recipe.

Looks like I'm getting my MoJo back! Yeah, baby, yeah! I created another LO yesterday, of those beautiful loving eyes of my favorite man in the whole world! I tried another style, minimalistic a la Jenifer Johner over at 2Peas. Check out her gallery, she has got some amazing work!

Following Kim Hill (Link)"s footsteps, here is an easy beauty recipe for you, courtesy of the book "Feeding Your Skin" by Carla Oates (ISBN 1-920989-02-1).

BASIC SCRUB MIX

For highly sensitive skin, omit the rice flour and double the oatmeal.

1/2 cup very fine oatmeal
1/4 cup rice flour
1 tablespoon clay suited to your skin type*

1 Combine the ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight jar; the mix should last indefinetely if kept dry

2. Put 2 teaspoons of the mixture in a bowl and add enough of a wet ingredient (honey, yoghurt, milk, egg yolk, fruit, herbal infusions or floral waters) to form a gritty paste.

3. Spread the scrub onto a wet face and massage into the skin using gentle, upward circular motions. Remove with lots of tepid water and a muslin (cheesecloth) wash cloth. Repeat until all resudue is removed. Pat dry.

* Argiletz (French) are available in five different colors, each offering properties suitable for a particular skin type.

Green: most absorbent - for acneous, oily and neglected skin
Pink: purifying and toning - suitable for all skin types
Red: for sensitive skin and broken capilaries
White: soothing and softening - for all skin types
Yellow: for restoring tired and neglected skin of all skin types

There you go... regular exfoliating (at least once a week, more for oily skin) will ensure a soft and glowing complexion! Let me know how you went with it!

I have to go pick up my new Belgian passport now... I am a resident of Australia however I don't have citizenship yet, therefor I still need a European passport to travel. I am going to hit the showers now and then hop on the train to the city. Woohoo! I might even pop in at Perfect Potion to get some more of my Organic Rosehip Oil. Man, this product has done wonders for my skin! I could not imagine life without it anymore! If you know what's good for you, check out suppliers in your country and start using this little gem of nature! You won't regret it! :)

See you later, peeps!
